About us

In 2003, Nicholas Wray decided to take his business entrepreneurship one step further. He already owned a successful ATV business which had given him a keen interest in the transport industry. It was from this small building block he decided to branch into the transport sector. He now has a transport company which in the running to become a leader in its field.

During this time ‘Nick’ entered the University of Ulster to study for a degree in Transport and Supply Chain Management. He balanced his degree with the developing haulage firm. At times, sacrifices were often required but to this day he is still a great believer that “big things come from small actions”.

In the beginning there was one lorry and, more often than not it was driven by Nick. The lorry was mainly used for collecting used farm machinery and ATVs throughout Scotland and England. Whilst at the same time Nicks name was on the attendance register of many classes at the university of Ulster…………………………..

With demand growing from other party’s wishing machinery to be transported back to Ireland it was time to diversify. With this in mind he sat his CPC and applied for the Road Haulage Licience. Thus the foundation of J & N Transport was laid.

Nick graduated from the University of Ulster in the summer of 2005 with a Bsc Hons degree. By this time J & N Transport was beginning to flourish with the need exceeding the capacity of one lorry, a second lorry was soon to be purchased.

Today J & N Transport has become a reputable and efficient haulage company. Nick has remained focused on giving a wide range of services to meet many company needs. He has employed a number of staff, as found the demand meant he couldn’t quite manage to be in two places at once.

From small beginnings the company now transports goods from both England, Scotland and around Ireland.
